June 18-21, 2008 * Des Moines Area Y-Camp * Ages 7-13

Do you like exploring Iowa’s wild places? Ever tasted water from a natural spring? Come discover The Wonder Under Us! Learn how farmers are protecting Iowa’s land, and show us what you would do with The Wonder Under Us if it were yours!

Wednesday: Right under your nose! Get to know the land on a discovery hike—then show us how you would lay out the land in your “county” in an interactive game.

Thursday: Water, water, everywhere! Get to know our favorite stream that runs through the camp, then canoe a pond, drink from a natural spring, and finish the day with a watercolor painting lesson.

Friday: Soil your shoes on a real farm as we learn how Iowa farmers are protecting our soil—you might get a little “dirty” on this day!

Saturday: This Land is Your Land, so revise your land planning based on all you’ve learned and share your county with your family.

Who: PFI camp is a family camp for people of all ages. Bring a friend! Children 6 and under attend camp free, and must be accompanied by an adult.

When: Please arrive by 2pm on Wednesday, June 18 th . Camp will end with a family potluck at 11:00 sharp on Saturday, June 21 st .

Cost: $140. Register by May 30.
